Brooklyn is balanced well with cultural sites and beautiful brownstone walk ups, but it's actually an affordable enough area for you to have a three bedroom with backyard space, as opposed to a one bedder with an unpleasent aroma.

If you've your heart set on it, you can find a place in Manhattan, but Manhattan's all about the location, so you will get less bang for your buck, but if you can afford it, you'll get triple the entertainment and boy, what a location! All you'll ever need to do in the heart of Manhattan to amuse yourself, is look around and take up eveyones favourite past time of people watching.
